The Rice and Food Department focuses on “food” as an essential element of life and a fundamental human need. We offer rice-based products tailored to our customers, aiming to fulfill both the “needs and satisfaction” of our business partners. As lifestyles have diversified and dietary habits have evolved in recent years, we have expanded our focus and strengthened sales in key areas such as meat, fish, fresh produce, and processed foods to meet these changing needs.
Products
Rice & Food Section
Regarding rice—Japan’s staple food—we have established strong partnerships with major production regions and collaborate with over a dozen rice milling plants nationwide. In addition, through our group company, Okura Rice Co., Ltd., which handles cooked rice, boxed meals, frozen products, and more, we can provide tailored solutions to meet diverse customer needs. Beyond rice-related products such as sake, we also actively import high-quality food ingredients worldwide, including cheese, honey, and olive oil.
Rice Import Section
In addition to domestically produced rice, we handle a wide variety of imported rice from countries such as the United States, Thailand, China, and India. While all imports are conducted through the SBS (Simultaneous Buy and Sell) tender system, we boast one of the industry's leading track records—built on experience dating back to our predecessor, Okura&Co.,Ltd. Leveraging our dual strength as a trading company with domestic and imported rice expertise, we are well positioned to deliver optimal solutions tailored to our customers’ needs.
Food Import Section
We import and distribute a wide range of food ingredients and additives—primarily used in food manufacturing, including raw materials for products sold in convenience stores and supermarkets—mainly from regions such as China and Vietnam, under rigorous quality control. Our proposals are focused on agricultural products like vegetables and fruit, carefully tailored to meet our customers' specific needs and intended applications.
